"Twilight" star Kellan Lutz is ready to move on from seeking red blood to the red carpet at the Academy Awards.

Lutz, who is known for playing the older vampire brother of Robert Pattinson's Edward, told Du Jour publication that no matter how long it takes, he intends to win an Academy Award. After the success of the "Twilight" films, he will remain dedicated to acting for the rest of his life.

"I'll win an Oscar one day, but I'm in no rush to get there. I don't care if that takes me 50 years, and I'm old. I just love what I do."

While Lutz finds the ending of the "Twilight" series "bittersweet," he is ready to take his career to the next level.

"It really is bittersweet," Lutz told DuJour. "It's very much like high school...and I'm ready to graduate."

So far, Lutz is on the right track. Lutz will play the lead in the remake of the 1932 movie "Tarzan the Ape Man." The 27-year-old recently completed filming "Tarzan" which will arrive in theaters next year.

"It was amazing," Lutz said. "It's a blessing to even be considered to play Tarzan. It's an incredibly iconic role."

The North Dakota native hopes his family can join him and attend the premiere of the final "Twilight" film.

Calling the film's final screening a "special moment in my life," Lutz added, "I really just want to experience it with the people who mean the most to me."

DuJour magazine's writer that interviewed Lutz described him as "ridiculously good looking." At 6-foot-1, with blonde hair and "intense" blue eyes, the writer states that it was no surprise that Lutz started his career as a model. Lutz has appeared in ad campaigns previously for top fashion brands including Calvin Klein and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Lutz is currently dating Australian actress Sharni Vinson, according to DuJour.
