A Washington high school football player kicked an impressive 67 yard field goal.

The state record breaking kick was made by Austin Rehkow from Central Valley high school in Spokane, Wash.

The kick breaks the previous Washington state record set in 1929 by Kelly Imhoff who booted an impressive 62 yards.

According to the Seattle Times, Rehkow's kick is the second longest high school field goal ever kicked. Dirk Borgognone had previously kicked a 68 yard field goal playing high school football in Reno, Nev.

The 67 yard field goal kick ties with two other field goals of the same distance which were done in 1987 and 1999.

Rehkow made the kick with little time remaining on the clock and tied the game with a score or 55. Central Valley high school went on to win 62-55 against Shadle Park. The game also saw another record made by Shadle Park quarterback Brett Rypien who broke the Washington state record for a single-game pass throwing for 577 yards.

The talented high school player has made a total of three field goal kicks of more than 50 total yards during the season.

Before the game, ESPN reported that Rehkow had a partial scholarship to play football at Eastern Washington University. However, with the impressive record breaking kick, it's likely that better offers are in the works.

Field goals farther than 60 yards are rare even for the pros. In the NFL, no one has kicked above 63 yards, according to the Washington Post. The record distance for the NFL is currently held at a tie between Jason Elam, Sebastian Janikowski, Tom Dempsey and David Akers.

It's likely this isn't the last the public will hear of Austin Rehkow who appears to have a bright future in the game.
