Mo'Nique is still set on clearing her name and proving that she was originally offered the role of Cookie on Fox's Empire.

Actress Mo'Nique Proves Via Emails She Was Supposed To Play Cookie On 'Empire'

She spoke with The Breakfast Club of Power 105.1 in New York City and said that she pulled out the emails between her and a rep for Empire co-creator Lee Daniels to prove that she was telling the truth.

"Because my character was in question. And I take pride in my character," she confessed.

She went on to agree that the back-and-forth between herself and Daniels along with co-creator Danny Strong had her looking a little off.

"Girl didn't it make me look crazy?" she said. "Y'all know mama ain't crazy. That was it. It was when Mr. Strong made the statement, 'She was never offered the role and that never happened.' It's like guys, I have the communication. I don't want to play that game. But I have to say when you're putting something out that's not true and it's an attack on my character, let me show you what it is."

She walked the co-hosts through what exactly happened between her and Daniels. She said just like other times she had worked with Daniels, like on Precious, he called her up about a role, the lawyers get involved and they seal the deal. He told her that because it was for television, she would have to do a screen testing as common protocol. But that's when things took a turn.

"That's when all the confusion began to come in. Calls weren't being returned. When I finally get a call, he said 'Listen, Fox said you're difficult. They just wanna go with Taraji P. Henson.'"

It's understandable why Mo'Nique would feel a certain way. Empire is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) television hits of the year so far.
