When Whitfield left The Real Housewives of Atlanta after season 4, rumors swirled claiming she may have been fired. However, during an interview with Essence, via PEOPLE Magazine, Whitfield claimed the end of her run with Bravo was "amicable."

"I was ready to move, and I don't need to explain myself to anybody," she said in 2012. "I am super happy, and I'm moving in a different direction. I'm not about just being on a show bickering and fighting with women."

"I wish all the girls the best," she added. "The ones that I like and the ones that I don't like. I wish everybody the best."

After Whitfield and Cohen's recent Twitter exchange was posted, several fans weighed in, requesting Cohen bring her back to the series.
