Angela Bassett is officially joining FX's American Horror Story: Hotel, and she will be working with Lady Gaga.

Evan Peters Set To Star in 'American Horror Story: Hotel'?

American Horror Story boss Ryan Murphy tweeted the exciting news on Twitter Thursday:

"In October, Angela Bassett will be making lots of trouble with Lady Gaga in the ballroom and elsewhere. #ahshotel" he tweeted.

'American Horror Story: Hotel' Cast Rumors About Michelle Pfeiffer True Or False?

Murphy's claim that Bassett and Gaga's characters will cause trouble "in the ballroom" suggests that they might both be playing performers of some sort. Since Gaga is obviously known for her musicianship, this is not too much of a stretch, but it could be fun to see Bassett playing a singer. One of her more famous roles was in the film What's Love Got to Do with It, where she played Tina Turner. Her performance earned her an Oscar nomination.

Bassett joins previously announced cast members Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny.

Bassett has turned in some good work since joining American Horror Story in season 3. She played voodoo queen Marie Laveau in American Horror Story: Coven, which earned her an Emmy nomination and three-breasted hermaphrodite Desiree Dupree in American Horror Story: Freak Show.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
