Fifty Shades fans are getting the surprise of a lifetime. After a long awaiting few months, Universal execs not only released official release dates for the new Darker and Freed sequels but they also shared the first official video teaser from film's second installment.

'Fifty Shades' Author E.L. James Now Has Full Creative Control Over Film Sequels

Since releasing a teaser photo, film execs have given fans a slight preview of what's to come when the movie is released. While the video is fairly short, fans should be excited that they're getting any footage at all.

In a recent interview The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley dished on her role and the studio's most talked about movie projects and gave a little insight into the new highly anticipated film.

Cara Delevingne Reportedly Set To Star In 'Fifty Shades Darker' Sequel

According to Langley, the second film installment of E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel Fifty Shades Darker will be "more of a thriller."

As previously reported, James' husband, Niall Leonard, will serves as the screenwriter for the next two installments and during her interview, Langley expresses her belief that Leonard is a great asset to the company.

"He actually did a draft that wasn't credited on the first movie," Langley said. "He did a really good job."

Access Hollywood reported that Universal Pictures executives announced at CinemaCon that the Darker and Freed sequels are finally in the works and the anticipated films will be hitting theaters around the world very soon.

Fifty Shades Darker is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017. Fifty Shades Freed will also arrive just in time for Valentine's Day on February 9, 2018.

After releasing the official release dates, the site also gave viewers the first look into the new film by sharing a new teaser photo, featuring none other than Mr. Grey himself.
