Greg Rikaart has been part of The Young and the Restless family since his character Kevin Fisher was brought into the soap in July 2003.

Kevin's "relationships with women have been difficult at best," according to his portrayer.

The soap star opened up even more about his character to Gay Star News on the red carpet at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmys, which the site shared Thursday.

"Kevin's never been a Lothario," Rikaart shared.

When Kevin first made his debut in Genoa City he was seen as an Internet predator and gave Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) a sexually transmitted disease.

He married Jana Hawkes (Emily O'Brien), but that marriage was short-lived, only lasting between 2008-2010.

He also had romantic relations with Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Angelina Veneziano (Diana DeGarmo), but like the actor said, the relationships never last since Kevin definitely isn't a Romeo.

It seems like currently something more than friendship can happen between Kevin and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) seeing as the pair have kissed, but Rikaart wants his character "to come out" as gay.

The 38-year-old actor previously was never very public about his personal life, but in June 2013 he revealed on Twitter his relationship with Robert Sudduth as they celebrated the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA.

"I think it would be a super interesting story to tell," Rikaart said of his character winding up being gay, adding, "I think it would be more socially responsible than just bringing on a gay character - to have someone on the canvas that the audience knows and thinks of as family and takes that (coming out) journey."

The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
