Donna the Deer Lady: Crossings Rant Becomes Hilarious Internet Sensation [LISTEN HERE]

Morning radio shows encounter a lot of strange people.

In North Dakota, a woman known as Donna the Deer Lady called the hosts of Fargo's Y94 morning radio show with an unusual rant.

Apparently she thinks the wild deer look for deer crossing signs when they need to get across the street. This caused a complaint to the radio station that left the DJ's dumbfounded.

"My frustration is that Minnesota and North Dakota departments of transportation would allow these deer crossings to be in such high-traffic areas," said Donna the Deer Lady. "I mean, I've even seen them on the interstates. Why are we encouraging deer to cross at the interstate? I don't get it..."

This apparently has been a troubling issue for Donna as she told the radio show, ""I wanted to voice my opinion on something that's been bothering me for a really long time. I've tried writing to the newspaper and...TV stations, but no one seems to want to run with it, so that's why I'm calling you guys."

One of the DJ's attempted to explain to Donna that the signs are actually warnings to drivers to watch out for the crossing dear and not meant to attract the four legged forest dwellers.

This didn't seem to change her mind as she blamed the local authorities for traffic and were "encouraging deer to cross at the interstate."

At first it appeared to the radio host that it was a joke, but then it turned serious as the Deer Lady went on.

"Over the past few years, I've been involved in three separate car accidents involving deer," said Donna. Each of these accidents, they've occurred shortly after I've seen a deer crossing sign on the highway."

She continued, "My frustration is that Minnesota and North Dakota departments of transportation would allow these deer crossings to be in such high-traffic areas. I mean, I've even seen them on the interstate. Why are we encouraging deer to cross at the interstate? I don't get it."

The radio show couldn't let the topic rest and they did a follow-up interview with Donna who said she feels "incredibly stupid" now. Donna said that she never thought about why the signs were really there and that's what created her ignorance.
