Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) aren't going anywhere in the season 7 finale of ABC's Castle, much to fans' relief.

'Castle' Boss Says Finale Was 'Challenging' To Write Amid Renewal Buzz

Neither Castle nor Beckett will die in the season 7 finale, according to show creator Andrew W. Marlowe.

The executive producer spoke with Entertainment Weekly this week and suggested that Castle does not share the same qualities as one other famous ABC show.

"I think that we can say that if we were to come back next year, we would be coming back with all of our pieces intact," Marlowe said. "It's not a Grey's Anatomy situation by any means."

Grey's Anatomy is famous for killing off main characters almost every season, most recently landing in the news for killing Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), who had been with the show from the beginning.

Meanwhile, Fillion recently signed on for another season of Castle, while Katic has reportedly yet to sign the dotted line. It is not known if ABC would want to continue the show if Katic were to move on. The show is called Castle but part of the show's success has been in the relationship between Castle and Beckett.

The clock is definitely ticking, considering networks announce their TV schedules for the following season in May every year. The crime procedural has been a relative success over its seven seasons.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
