He officially announced his plans to quit Forrester so he would no longer have to deal with Rick's (Jacob Young) controlling behaviors as CEO, but after Carter's (Lawrence St. Victor) unexpected bombshell, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) may rethink his decision on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Rick Gloats That Ridge Can't End His Tenure As CEO

Ridge has informed Carter that he is quitting after learning that Eric (John McCook) was considering extending Rick's tenure as CEO from the initial one-year agreement, something he couldn't bear the thought of because of the disrespect Rick has shown for his designers. But as Carter tried convincing him to rethink it, he was forced to reveal the secret that only he knows.

Carter learned that the future Forrester Matriarch, Maya (Karla Mosley), is actually transgender, and the scandal the information could cause if it is leaked would not only likely bring an end to Rick's control of the company, but could cause other problems for Forrester as well. Now, despite promising he wouldn't tell, he has shared the information with Ridge.

Ridge Makes A Shocking Decision About Forrester

"Maya is transgender," he says in a preview clip for the Monday, May 4 episode.

Now, Ridge will need to decide if this new information will be worth sticking around for--because if he times revealing it to everyone else correctly, he could have the power to take his younger brother down for good. But, he may also suddenly feel bad for his brother, who has no idea that the woman he has made it clear he wants to marry once his divorce from Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) is official, is keeping such a monumental secret from him.

"Oh Ricky boy, you're in for the shock of your life," Ridge says in the clip.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
