According to the Mirror on Monday, the baby's first name Charlotte is a feminine version of Charles, which was chosen to honor Prince William's father, the Prince of Wales. The baby also shares the name with her aunt Pippa Middleton, whose middle name is Charlotte.

The baby's two middle names, Elizabeth and Diana, of course honor Prince William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth and his late mother, Princess Diana.

There was also a rumor this past week suggesting that Pippa might be the baby's godmother.

According to Hello! Magazine on Saturday, both Pippa and mom Carole Middleton were one of the first family members to arrive at Kensington Palace to meet the Duchess and her new baby as they made their way home after giving birth early on Saturday morning.

The site said, "Having Carole, who showed William and Kate the ropes when they became parents for the first time in July 2013, by their sides as they adapt to their new family dynamic will be of great comfort to the new parents."

The site added, "Royal watchers, however, have suggested that Pippa may take a more active role with William and Kate's child and she is high on the list of potential godparents for the little girl."
