He was told to stay as far away from Clyde Weston (James Read) as possible, but despite all the warning he's received to not dig around in the man's past, Will (Guy Wilson) will begin working on his planned article on the conman anyway on Days of Our Lives.

Clyde Threatens Will

Will has no idea he was ordered to work on the article because it is a DiMera plot to expose truths about both Clyde and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) which will succeed at ripping the younger man's relationship with Abigail (Kate Mansi) apart. And though his initial attempts to question Clyde proved to find the newest wealthy face in town resistant, Will realized there was a real story there--and has since been working on things.

However, despite his newfound interest in overing Clyde, he will meet major resistance. Not only did his grandmother, Kate (Lauren Koslow), who dates Clyde, warn him to stay away and insisted there was no story there, but Ben himself has made his lack of interest in cooperating with the reporter very well known too.

Ben Asks Clyde For Help

Still, Will is set on making plans to get the article done with the hopes of being given more dirt on Paul (Christopher Sean) in the process, and will begin by heading out to Clyde's hometown of Poplar Bluff to scoop up some answers.

What Will is also unaware of though is the danger he could be in if he does uncover some of Clyde's biggest secrets. Clyde has several shady dealings, and has not been afraid to resort to violence in order to get a point across or ensure his competitors and those hoping to expose him are eliminated. Though no one knows it, he was actually the one responsible for Will's stepfather E.J.'s death a few months back (his henchman fired the deadly shot and Clyde helped dispose of all the evidence to make it look like a random druggie committed the crime). And Victor (John Aniston) is the only one who knows that the attack that saw Sonny (Freddie Smith), Will's husband, literally stabbed in the back was retaliation--and not also a random crime fueled by a drug addict seeking money.

If Will uncovers hese secrets and more, he could be Clyde's next target.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
