It looks as though Amal Clooney doesn't mind taking style risks at all. The human rights lawyer wore a custom-made gown by a controversial designer as she walked the red carpet with her husband George Clooney at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday evening.

According to Express.co.uk on Tuesday, Amal wore a red gown by disgraced designer John Galliano. Back in 2011, the house of Christian Dior suspended Galliano after he was found guilty of allegedly making anti-Semitic remarks in a racist tirade at a Paris bar.

The strapless dress had a voluminous skirt that features numerous layers of satin and tulle. She also wore her long black hair down and wore a few accessories, including a pair of small earrings.

And while Amal was criticized by fans for wearing the dress, it looks as though her husband George might have had something to do with it. According to Us Weekly, George is apparently "very involved" in selecting Amal's day-to-day looks.

A source told the site, "George is very involved in selecting her looks. He'll watch her try on clothes and will say, 'I like that. You should get it,' or 'No, not that.'"

The couple has been married since September of last year when they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in front of their family and friends in Italy.
