ABC has released a promo for the season finale of Castle, which is titled Hollander's Woods. The episode features a deep dive into Castle's (Nathan Fillion) origin story, which is previewed in the promo.

"He's the biggest mystery writer in the business. Next Monday, for the first time ever, discover the shocking story behind Castle's success," the voiceover says in the promo.

Castle recalls, "I was 11 years old..."

At this point, various images flash including a masked man confronting a young Castle.

"You've made this killer your personal boogeyman," Beckett tells Castle.

The promo then features a shocking scene in which a woman runs out into the road and looks like she is about to be hit by a truck. It is not known if this is Beckett or someone else. It's possible that this is from Castle's flashback to when he was 11.

"This is not how the story was supposed to end," Castle says at the end of the promo.

Luckily, Beckett isn't going anywhere, as Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe has already said that the final episode won't feature a situation similar to Grey's Anatomy. The ABC show killed off Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) out of nowhere in a recent episode, greatly angering fans.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
