It remains to be see how important Trautmann will be to the episode itself.

Longmire is currently in production in New Mexico for its fourth season, which will stream exclusively on Netflix. The Western drama was going strong for three seasons as A&E's most viewed scripted show but it was shockingly cancelled last August due to low ratings in the adults 18-49 demographic. Longmire fans were obviously very upset by this, launching a Twitter campaign to see the show be brought back.

Netflix then swooped in back in November and picked the show up for a 10-episode fourth season.

Longmire season 4 is slated for release on Netflix in the fall, though the streaming company has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
