Fans thought they saw the end of Hakeem’s much older girlfriend Camilla on Fox’s Empire, but it looks like Lucious Lyon didn’t get rid of her as easily as he thought.

Inside Edition caught up with actress Naomi Campbell who plays Camilla when she and Empire’s co-creator Lee Daniels hit the red carpet together for the Met Gala Monday night.

Campbell was asked if she was returning and she tossed the question over to Daniels.

“I don’t know Lee. Are you bringing me back?”

Daniels responded with, “Of course I am!”

Apparently that was just as much news to Campbell as it was to viewers.

“I didn’t know that. That’s an exclusive,” she exclaimed.

While Hakeem was definitely a playboy and firecracker on the show, Camilla was the only one who seemed to able to calm him down. They hid their romance at first but when Camilla pushed Hakeem to tell his family about her, he went along with it. Of course his mother, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) didn’t like the idea of her young son dating a woman her age, but his father Lucious (Terrence Howard) took even more drastic measures in getting Camilla out of the picture.

When she got a little too close to trying to get Hakeem to step out of Lucious’ shadow, Lucious tried to pay her off and told her to go back to London. Even though she ripped up the check it seemed like Lucious scared her off. But apparently that wasn’t the case.
