They've weathered through split rumors in the past, but Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are still going strong--and according to a new interview, they're looking very much forward to a quiet life in the country together.

In the June 2015 issue of Country Living, Lambert opened up about her country lifestyle she enjoys with Shelton when they're both not busy with their careers, admitting that they enjoy the peace and simplicity of that life.

"I grew up in Lindale, Texas, where the town motto is Good Country Living," she said. "So you could say country life has been in my blood since birth. Even now, my husband Blake and I live in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which is roughly two hours from any major city. There's just a peace that come with country life."

Lambert also dished about some of the things she and her hubby enjoy doing while they're kicking back and relaxing in their country home--which would possibly surprise fans of the successful couple.

"My dad taught me to live off the land," she said. "I now have my own garden, but Blake is really the gardener. This year, we're planting tomatoes and strawberries to make jam. I have a little downtime this summer, so I'm looking forward to this task

And though she will be trying to enjoy the time off, Lambert assures that the country living is what gives her some of her best inspiration, so she likely won't be out of the recording studio very long.

"I write best when I'm home on my porch with me guitar," she said. "There's something calming about looking out at wide-open spaces and trees as far as you can see. The country is perfect for letting your mind drift to a creative place."
