'Downton Abbey' Actor Admits There Will Be Tears When Series Ends

On Sunday, Big News Network posted an interview with Brendan Coyle, who plays John Bates on the series. He mentioned that as hard as it it's going to be to move on from the series, he feels lucky to be a part of it.

"It was just a really, really joyous bunch of people and I really, really loved working with them, and, also, there's this sense of security that we've had over the last few years, which you don't really get a lot in our business," Coyle said.

The actor gave more details on how he's going to miss his wonderful co-workers when the series meets its fate.

"I'm going to miss, first and foremost, the human beings," he said. "Our crew has been consistent and they are amazing. A couple of cast members have come and gone, but the ones that come in and the ones that I work with regularly are an absolute joy. I work with Joanne Froggatt, who plays my wife, and it is sublime. And Hugh Bonneville and just the gang."

When Downton finishes its last season, Coyle knows that he's going to look back with fond memories.

"Downton Abbey will always be this beautiful, gift-wrapped present in my mind I will open now and again and go, 'Oh, that was lovely!'" he said.

Downton Abbey Season 6 is expected to premiere in the United States in January 2016 on PBS.
