The fourth season finale of ABC's Scandal is just days away and a new spoiler alert reveals that it’s bound to be one that keeps fans on the edge of their seats.

A synopsis released by the network confirms that Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her team are taking drastic efforts to overcome her brutal father. But Mellie (Bellamy Young) will also know her future as she finds out if she won the major election.

A summary for the episode reads, “Everything comes to a head in the shocking season finale when Olivia and the team finally make some big moves to take down Command, and Mellie’s fate is sealed as the election results are announced…”

Cast Teases ‘Scandal’ Season Finale, Says It’s ‘A Really Dark One’

In a teaser for the upcoming season finale, Olivia has had enough of her father outsmarting her again and again. So now, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to beat him at his own game.

She said, “We have one goal— to bring down my father. No matter what happens, no matter who gets hurt.”

Given the history of Papa Pope’s (Joe Morton) actions, Olivia probably sees anyone getting “hurt” in the process as collateral damage that will eventually lead to saving lots of other people. But it doesn’t help that it looks like she ends up in jail. Interestingly enough, her mother (Khandi Alexander) also return. It could be to help Olivia bring down her father. She seems to be the only one to know his achilles heel.
