ABC has dropped not one but two more sneak peeks at the highly anticipated fourth season finale of Scandal.

In the first one, Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Olivia’s father, Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) get all chummy with each other.

He tells Mellie, “I am a fan. You are by far the most interesting First Lady we’ve ever had. You have set quite an example for my daughter. I can tell you that. And now Senator Mellie Grant. Well what is a billionaire to do?”

He then goes on to say he will “support” her without any reservation, but he hopes he’ll stand by a few causes he stands by as well. He reaches for his suitcase and pulls out a portfolio. It’s not clear what’s inside, but Mellie is absolutely shocked as she flips through it.

Seeing her reaction, Papa Pope adds, “Does it interest you?”

It definitely looks like he’s trying to get her caught up in something messy.

She reluctantly responds, “It does.”

But the drama doesn’t stop there (of course). In the second sneak clip, we get another look at Mellie and Rowan’s intense interaction.

The flattery has disappeared as she asks who is and he answers back, “Don’t ever ask who I am. Ask me what I need.”

Cyrus also threatens Daniel that he is willing to take down Daniel’s love, Abby, to get what he wants.
In the end, something tragic happens that shocks Olivia.

The finale is filled with “blackmail” and “backstabbing.” It airs Thursday at 9/8c on ABC.
