Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew) and Dr. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) hit some serious bumps in their lives as individuals and as a couple like when they had to induce their baby early and then watched him die from a rare bone disease.

April then took off to find a purpose by enlisting in the Army to help heal those overseas after Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) died and it seemed like the separation was causing quite the rift between her and Jackson.

Will The Doctors On 'Grey's Anatomy' Be 'Brought Closer Together' In The Season 11 Finale?

She only just returned to Grey Sloan Memorial in the episode that aired last week, but a new sneak peek clip into the finale shows the couple might be done for good.

E! News premiered the clip, which is below, in which Jackson and April are seen chatting privately.

"I need to say something and I don't know how to say it," April tells him.

Jackson then states what she's clearly thinking; she wants to return to the Army.

"The way I felt today, every day is like it out there. I thought it was just readjustment and then I thought it was like an adrenaline addiction or something, but it feels like I don't know-I feel like I've been called, Jackson," April explains to him.

He then shocks her by telling her it's okay for her to go back and she kisses him to show her appreciation for his understanding.

The bomb then drops from his lips as he says, "But I don't think I can be here when you come back."

Grey's Anatomy airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
