"The little update what people don't know about shunning I've been shunned for 2 years yes I'm trying to get back but this doesn't happen overnight and it won't go away overnight this is something you have to work with I have to prove to the church that I really want to go back," she wrote. "It's probably going to be about another year before I can get back in but I want everyone to remember it is sad to be shunned but I also had a lot of fun while I was doing the things I wasn't supposed to do either way it was good and it was bad so this season will be my last season."

"I just do not understand WHY you even want to be a part of it! Shunning is NOT Christian..." one commented on the post. "You are NOT going to hell for going to NY, or taking a drink, or being on camera...I am pretty sure God has other things to worry about!..."

"You had fun and were probably repressed for years, I understand you wanting to go back, hopefully it won't be at the expense of you shunning your children," another wrote.

"...The Church elders are just people like you and me, and they fear you Mary," another said. "Your only sin in their eyes is that you choose to be yourself and think for yourself. At the end of the day, the Amish church elders fear loss of control..."
