After Barcelona's dominating performance against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, Real Madrid is now trailing in the La Liga by 11 points as they mentally prepare for what should be an interesting matchup against star Joaquin Caparros and his underdog Mallorca club on Sunday.

Hard luck aside, the defending champion Real Madrid will head into Iberostar Stadium with plenty of man power that should work to their advantage against the ailing Mallorca.  However, if they do fail to execute a victory in the matchup, Los Merengues could very well end up plummeting to seventh place behind both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the standings.

Real Madrid will be without the services of all three of their fullbacks along with the re-injured Sami Khedira.  While the team's positional setbacks can clearly affect the outcome of the game, they do have the subs to make up for the losses of Khedira and Arbeloa as well as some options at left-back.

Although Real Madrid has clearly lost some depth, their injury woes seemingly pale in comparison to Mallorca.  The squad will be without Jose Nunes, Javi Marquez, Joao Victor and Antonio Lopez,  who are all on the shelf for serious knee injuries.

As of late, Mallorca has lost their last three games and haven't accrued a single point in play.  The team is hoping that recent loan acquisition Andreu Fontas (from Barcelona)can assist their ailing defense.  Fontas looked solid in his debut last weekend against Sevilla and should play a crucial role at central defense this season
