She finally came clean to Rick (Jacob Young) about being transgender, but telling the truth could still backfire on Maya (Marla Mosley) in ways she never expected on The Bold and the Beautiful.

The Forrester Team Prepares For Backlash

After Rick took her to Big Bear and proposed, Maya knew the time had officially come for her to share her entire story--and keeping her promise to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) that she wouldn't accept his proposal before telling the truth, Maya finally went through with it. However, her hopes that Rick would react well to the news she had been raised as a boy will be dashed.'

Rick may not be upset with her over the fact that she actually is transgender, but he will have a major problem with Maya keeping it a secret from him as long as she did--even after he told her several times that he valued honesty above all else.

Maya Finally Tells Rick The Truth

"The person I knew an hour ago would have told me when we first met," he says to her in a preview clip for the Monday, May 18 episode.

However, Maya will continue trying to make her case to Rick in an attempt to save their relationship--reminding him that hers is a secret that isn't always so easily accepted, which kept her scared to tell the truth, especially since she didn't want to risk losing him.

"I think you know what I was afraid of losing," she says to him in the clip.

Meanwhile, back in L.A., Rick's parents, Brooke and Eric (John McCook) are worried about how Rick's reaction will affect his role as CEO of Forrester--and will mistakenly believe that the story will be contained solely within their family and not leak to the press.

"Look, this is a private matter alright?" Eric says to Brooke in the clip. "It's a family matter, we're gonna keep that way."

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
