Supernatural's Sam Winchester will push the envelope in a season finale effort to save his brother.

Dean's Mark of Cain is slowly but surely overtaking the elder Winchester, and Sammy will not stop until he finds a cure. Unfortunately, that means the hunter might cross lines that a younger Sam could never have imagined.

"I don't think we've ever seen him go further," executive producer Jeremy Carver told TV Line, indicating that Sam may have to sacrifice far more than he bargained for.

But what is it, exactly, that Sam is expecting to sacrifice? Despite repeated warnings from Castiel (Misha Collins) and Dean, the younger Winchester still has no idea what toll he will have to pay if he goes through with his plan to use the Book of the Damned.

"The only way I know how to save my brother is to cure the Mark. And, yes, I know there will be consequences," a riled Sam tells Cas in a "My Brother's Keeper" sneak peek. "But not you, not Dean, not anybody can tell me what those consequences are!"

Well, Sammy, I we're all about to find out.

Catch the Supernatural season 10 finale this Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
