Paulson is set to return to American Horror Story yet again for Hotel, the fifth season in the horror anthology franchise. With AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy teasing that Paulson is playing a "bad girl" in the show, the actress recently admitted to being excited for the role.

Paulson spoke with GoldDerby in a new video interview this week where she was asked if her new role will scare people.

Naomi Grossman Says There's 'A Chance' She'll Return To 'American Horror Story'?

If I'm doing anything right it will! I wanna scare some people. I've never played anyone on the show [that was villainous] - there's always been a level of heroism," Paulson said in response, discussing her more heroic characters like Lana Winters from Asylum.

The actress also admitted to being jealous of costar Jessica Lange's role Fiona Goode in Coven.

"I remember just being so jealous of Jessica during 'Coven', always, she gets to toss off these one-liners and cane people and smoke lots of cigarettes," Paulson said. "So I hope I can do all stuff like that, just 'cause it's a great deal of fun. I haven't really played a lot of villains in my life. I hope [Ryan Murphy is] telling the truth about me being the baddest, baddest bad girl or whatever he said. I think he might be right and I just hope it's all that."

Ultimately, Paulson admitted that she "can't wait" to get into her new role and that she could not reveal much more about her character.

She will be joined by several past costars including Evan Peters, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett as well as Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Chloë Sevigny and Lady Gaga.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
