Bethenny Frankel recently debuted a new look, and days later, her hairstylist, DJ Quintero, has dished on the reality star's hair change.

In a new interview, Quintero looked back on the creative process involved in the Real Housewives of New York City star's new, lighter bob.

“When Bethenny came in I could tell she was ready for a big change, but she didn’t want to tell me she wanted it, she wanted me to tell her what I thought she should do,” Quintero told PEOPLE Magazine on Thursday. “When we both found out we were on the same page she was all for the shorter look.”

Although Frankel arrived at the salon with a slew of photos for inspiration, she didn't have to use them.

“I never saw them since she wanted me to tell her what I thought we should do,” Quintero explained.

Frankel has had long hair since fans met her years ago on Celebrity Apprentice, so when it comes to the potential of going even shorter, fans shouldn't hold their breath.

“I’m not sure we will go shorter in the future. I wanted it to be shorter than a ‘lob’ and not a bob — somewhere in between, like a ‘mob’,” he said. 

In addition to the shorter cut, Frankel's hair was dyed by colorist Gina Gilbert, who gave Frankel a "subtle ombré.”
