While Kim Kardashian got lots of flack after moving on to Kanye West while she was still married to NBA player Kris Humphries, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has no shame in confessing she made the first move with her now husband, West.

Access Hollywood caught up Kardashian earlier this week. She dished on how her romance with West started when she was working through her divorce with Humphries.

“I think it was six months after I was newly single in like 2012, I was like why not? Like, what am I waiting for?”

Even though Kardashian made the first move, West has confessed several times that he has been in love with her for years. But because she went and tied the knot with Humphries, West didn’t make it easy for her.

She continued and said, “I called [Kanye West] because I’m sure it was really hurtful that I got married, and even though it’s not like we communicated all the time, I knew what he was thinking. So I thought he was going to call me as soon as he knew that I was single again. He didn’t.”

But that didn’t stop Kardashian from moving forward. The relationship got lots of negative attention because she was still legally married to Humphries when she and West started dating publicly.

“I called him and I said, ‘Hello? I thought you were at least going to call me and say ‘I told you so,’ or something?’ And then—he’s always been a good friend to me, like, we’ve always been there for each other – in my head I was like, ‘You know what? Screw it. Like, this is probably what I’ve been waiting for; it’s been in front of my face.”

She added that he invited her to a fashion show in Paris, and that’s when sparks flew. She ended up giving birth to their daughter, North West, in the summer of 2013.
