Soleil Moon Frye is ready for summer.

This week, the 38-year-old Punky Brewster actress put her nerves aside, and, after an impressive 40-pound weight loss, put her body on display in a sexy, black cutout swimsuit.

"I feel amazing," Frye told Us Weekly on Thursday. "The idea of getting into a bathing suit used to be terrifying. Now, I'm a little nervous but excited!"

According to the magazine, Frye, who is small in stature at 5'1'', began working with the weight loss company Nutrisystem after the birth of her son, Lyric Sonny Roads Goldberg, in February of last year.

Just one year ago, as she explained, the idea of putting on a swimsuit, especially something skimpy, was far from a comfortable situation, but now, with her new Nutrisystem body, Moon is proud to show off her new frame in the black suit, as well as any other cute styles she comes across in the future.

"There are so many fun suits to choose from this summer," Frye continued. "I'm ringing in Memorial Day weekend with this little black suit!"

In addition to son Lyric, Moon is also mommy to daughters Poet Sienna Rose, born August 2005, and Jagger Joseph Blue, born March 2008. She and husband Jason Goldberg have been married since 1998.
