He was shocked when his father told him he thought it would be in his best interest to step down as CEO of the company, but Rick (Jacob Young) will still make one last attempt to keep his position on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Eric Makes A Shocking Decision

After Ridge finally got through to Eric about the behavior Rick has exhibited as CEO, Eric confronted his younger son and told him he wanted him to step down--but Rick won't give up the job without a fight, especially since he's always felt like he came second to Ridge in his father's eyes.

"Stand up for me," Rick implores his father in a preview clip for the Monday, May 25 episode.

When that tactic doesn't prove to be successful however, Rick may try to remind his father of the times Ridge has also screwed their father over, hoping the manipulative attempt will be the one to swing thingd back into his favor.

"He's taken so much from so many people, even his own father," Rick says.

That attempt could have the magical effect that is needed on Eric however--and he could change his mind and keep Rick in the CEO chair--meaning that Ridge will be in for a disappointment when Eric gets back to the office--and informs his older son that he isn't putting him in charge.

As a result of the shocking turn of events, Ridge may decide to call in reinforcements to help his cause.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
