Monty Brinson's health kept him from attending daughter Brooke Brinson's wedding on Saturday.

Kim Richards Celebrates Brooke Brinson's Bridal Shower

As he continued to battle cancer, Brinson was forced to remain in Los Angeles as his daughter wed in Mexico, but sent Brooke, daughter of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kim Richards, a special message and photo on her big day.

"Today my daughter @brookewiederhorn got married in Cabo her dream wedding to her dream husband @thayerwiederhorn," Brinson wrote. "As you know I wasn't able to make it cause of Heath reasons. But will celebrate when they get back. Congratulations again."

"This picture has a very special meaning. When @kimrichards11 and I got married I bought her this 10 carat ring. Since Kim and I are very sentimental people we took the diamond out of the ring and made a necklace for her. Today on her wedding day she wore it for the fist time as she got married today so it shows the love we all have for each other. Proud day for a dad. Congratulations again."

Last May, Brinson was given just months to live following a cancer diagnosis, which was why Brooke and her husband, Thayer Weiderhorn, arranged for a quickie wedding in August at the home of Kathy Hilton.

Now that Brooke has wed, Brinson's ex-wife, Richards, is headed back to rehab, where she will continue her fight for sobriety following her drunken arrest last month.
