The Vampire Diaries concluded its sixth season on May 14, which meant viewers said goodbye to Elena (Nina Dobrev).

Dobrev's costars are still talking about her decision to leave the series and how things were filming their final scenes with the 26-year-old.

Kat Graham, who portrays Bonnie, and Candice Accola, who portrays Caroline on the supernatural drama series chatted with Us Weekly at The CW Upfronts in New York City on the day that the Season 6 finale aired.

In the video below, which the entertainment magazine's website shared over the weekend, Graham and Accola are seen chatting all about their journey with Dobrev on TVD up until her departure.

Accola dished she understands exactly how the fans of the series are feeling over saying goodbye to Elena since she gets "very emotional" while watching TV too.

The two costars shared fond memories of Dobrev.

Accola for instance shared she calls the Bulgarian beauty "Food shark" since Dobrev likes to steal bites of food from others.

They reminisced about the pilot that aired in 2009. They filmed the pilot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada before relocating to Georgia to film the rest of the series.

Graham recalled Dobrev being "very stoic" and "very reserved" while filming the pilot.

Graham went on to say that the final table read for the sixth season was a tough one given it solidified Dobrev's departure from the series. A lot of tears were shed.

"Obviously the character of Elena is the heart of the series so it is bittersweet, but it's also exciting," Accola shared.

The Vampire Diaries airs on The CW and will return with its seventh season in the fall.
