With the tease that Emma (Jennifer Morrison) might be the next big villain on ABC's Once Upon a Time, season 5 might be a rough one for fans, emotionally.

'Once Upon a Time' Star Jennifer Morrison Clears Up The Rumors That Her Character Is Pregnant

We knew that Once Upon a Time's Emma had the capacity for evil, and based on the final episode of season 4, it looks like that evil will be realized. As the threat of Emma becoming the next big bad grows stronger and stronger as a possibility, let's take a look back at one of actor Josh Dallas previous comments.

Dallas, who plays Charming on the series, spoke with Spinoff Online back in April about how the season finale would reveal the next great villain.

"It's a big reveal," Dallas said of the 'big bad' reveal. "The new big baddie is going to be really bad. It's the unimaginable. It's the worst thing that could possibly happen. It's going to be tough for everybody. It's going to be distressing for fans."

Fans now know that this is going to be Emma, and it will certainly be conflicting to have the Savior and hero of the story turn into the villain.

ABC has released a synopsis for season 5, which is slated to air in the fall. The synopsis states that Charming, Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin), Regina (Lana Parrilla) and pretty much every other character deal "with Emma's new role as the dark one and they begin the search for Merlin."

Once Upon a Time season 5 premieres this fall on ABC in its regular Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot.
