Schilling, who plays Piper Chapman on Orange Is the New Black, spoke with GoldDerby at a recent Television Academy event about the Emmys.

The actress admitted that the idea of selecting an episode to submit to Emmy voters is quite daunting.

"That kind of stuff, it scares me so much," she said of this process.

Schilling received an Emmy nomination last year for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She submitted the season 1 episode The Chickening but she wound up losing to Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Veep.

The show now has to compete as a drama series after Emmy judges rejected its plea to stay in the comedy categories. This means that Schilling will have to compete in Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Assuming she is nominated, she will probably have a tough time competing against other dramatic actresses, considering her show is lighter in tone than others.

Meanwhile, speaking to how the show has been received overall by Netflix users, Schilling could not be more thrilled.

"It feels so powerful," she said, of the show's popularity. "The beautiful energy of the fans really feed all of us and then the show is helpful for them so it's a great feedback with everybody supporting each other."

Orange Is the New Black season 3 is scheduled for release on Friday, June 12 on Netflix. All 13 episodes will be announced at once.
