The relationship between Daphne and Mingo is about to get pretty serious on Switched at Birth.

An Unexpected Pregnancy Is About To Be Announced On 'Switched At Birth'

On Wednesday, TV By The Numbers announced that the two lovebirds are going to have their parents meet each other when the series returns this summer. Surprisingly enough though, it turns out that Daphne and Mingo's parents have some kind of history, leaving insight on what that could entail.

Mingo's folks will be played by Paula Marshall (Gary Unmarried, Cheaper by the Dozen) and John Michael Higgins (Yes Man, Bad Teacher). They are expected to have their first appearance on the series in the sixth episode following the summer premiere.

'Switched At Birth' Star Weighs In On The Consequences Of Bay's Sexual Assault

The rest of the Switched at Birth future remains a mystery except for the fact that there will be an unexpected pregnancy. There is no word on who will be expecting nor who the father will be, but one theory is that Bay might be the one to suddenly find out she could be carrying a child. And to make things more difficult, the baby could either belong to Emmett or Tank.

Considering that Bay and Emmett have always had a rocky relationship, that ought to make things more complicated. But it would probably be a lot worse if it was Tank's since his last sexual encounter with Bay involved campus assault while she was too drunk to give consent.

Switched at Birth returns on Monday, August 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
