Agents of SHIELD's Lance Hunter and Bobbi Morse have become a big question mark when it comes to season 3.

The pair was originally set to move into their own spinoff following the season 2 finale, but ABC decision to pass on the pilot left the pair firmly on Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team. If they plan on sticking around, that is.

Following her traumatic injuries at the hands of Ward (Brett Dalton) and Agent 33, Mockingbird ended "SOS Part 2" with the declaration that she has had enough, she is done. It is unknown, however whether or not Hunter will chose to follow his ex-wife away from SHIELD.

"Obviously he's got the whole thing with Bobbi, what's happened to Bobbi at the end of the season, that he's probably going to be vengeful for, or perhaps he's like, 'Right, lets get out of here,' kind of thing because, as I say, he's kind of an independent spirit," Nick Blood (Hunter) told Flicks and the City at MCM London Comic Con last weekend. "I think whatever he's going to be up to, I think he's probably going to have a few little tricks up his sleeve, if you know what I mean."

Executive producer Jeff Bell has announced that Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and, by extension, Hunter, will have a role to play in season 3, even if they do temporarily decide to strike off on their own.

"Bobbi and Hunter are part of Team S.H.I.E.L.D.," Bell told Yahoo!. "The consideration of whether there's a show for them comes from everybody's love for them, and that continues, so we look forward to them being a part of the team next year."
