The Good Wife fans are still rooting for Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) return in some shape or form in season 7 of the CBS legal drama.

Showrunners Dish About Kalinda's Replacement In Season 7

Although the goodbye seemed definitive in the season 6 finale, it seems like if Panjabi wanted to return to the series she could. In an interview with E! Online showrunner Robert and Michelle King had previously suggested that they would have Panjabi back without thinking twice if she agreed. When asked if the door was open for Panjabi, Robert emphasized that it "is always open."

"Are you kidding? Archie Panjabi is one of the most talented actresses we've worked with. She's so good," he said. "We would love to have her back. I think we have to see what Fox wanted to do with her."

A New Romance To Spark For Alicia In Season 7?

But more recently when Panjabi was asked to address the question by E! Online she didn't seem as hopeful. "I don't think so," she said. "She came in as a mystery and left as a mystery."

This doesn't mean the actress isn't deeply attached to the character she portrayed on the show, as she even requested to keep some of Kalinda's wardrobe while leaving. "It would be nice to have some of the pieces," she said.

The Good Wife recently came under attack for a scene in the finale which offered some form of closure between Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Kalinda. The scene had been doctored and the two actress' didn't enact it together.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
