Liberal actor John Cusack is making a movie about controversial conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh called "Rush," according to a report Saturday.

Cusack will star as Limbaugh in the new biopic, Cusack's New Crime Productions confirmed to the Associated Press.

A shooting script is almost finished, according to the report.

The movie will be directed by Betty Thomas the director of "28 Days," "Doctor Dolittle" and Howard Stern's biopic "Private Parts," among others. Thomas is also an actress and is most known for the TV show "Hill Street Blues."

Production of "Rush" is set to start next year, Thomas told AP.

More details on the project have yet to emerge, but Limbaugh is known as a controversial radio host who earlier this year stirred anger when he called a college student a "slut" after she requested health care coverage for contraceptives.

Cusack is known for "Being John Malkovich," and "Sixteen Candles." He has also starred on "2012" "High Fidelity" and "The Raven."
