The action-packed anime series Attack on Titan made its debut in the United States last May on TOON (Cartoon Network) via Adult Swim's TOONAMI and FUNimation. It went on to wrap its first season in November.

The series is on a bit of a hiatus currently since a live-action movie is releasing, which follows the same magna series from Hajime Isayama.

Another reason for the delay in premiering a second season of the anime series is that the manga series needs to add more story arcs before director Tetsuro Araki can move forward.

Attack on Titan is about Eren Jaeger (Yuki Kaji) seeking revenge on the Titans, which are man-eating giants. Humans initially retreated to safety behind a wall when these Titans first appeared, yet a colossal-sized one managed to smash through the wall, leading to much carnage. This carnage included the death of Eren's mother. Eren watched helplessly as one of the creatures devoured her.

He therefore vowed to kill every Titan walking the earth, so he and his surviving friends enlist to fight against them.

Back at the end of last year at a press junket for the live-action movie, which is called Attack on Titan: Crimson Bow and Arrow, the TV series was granted a second season according to Anime News Network.

The second season will continue to follow closely to the manga series' plot.
