Is it possible for Klaus and Elijah to work out their relationship on The Originals?

Something 'Frightening' Is Coming To 'The Originals'

On Thursday, The Wrap released an interview with Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah on the series. When he was asked if it's possible for his character to get along with his brother, the actor remained coy, but explained why it's so difficult for the guys to have a standard relationship. Considering that the show revolves around "these two guys desperately trying to restore this kingdom," it's nearly impossible for them to live in a world where both of them have to be in it.

"The fundamental problem- I guess of the entire show- is that those two people just can't co-exist," Gillies explained.

Is There A Future For Hayley & Elijah On 'The Originals?'

"I think the rift between them is going to precipitate the chain of events," he added. "It's not just a begrudging alliance now- it's an alliance on its lead of trust."

With that information set forward, it sounds like the brothers will have even more drama coming their way. But could things change as the series continues with new episodes?

"I think there's no way to strategize taking a show from A to Z on network television," the actor said. "I think that the HBOs of the world, the AMCs...like, I do believe Breaking Bad was an arc that they foresaw and that they fulfilled, but I just think that with us there's just no way. There's just too many variables."

The Originals Season 3 premieres this fall on The CW.
