Season 6 of The Good Wife saw the exits of crucial characters and put a check on Alicia's power and success. The finale also featured a controversial scene which damaged the confidence of fans.

Showrunners Dish About Kalinda's Replacement In Season 7

The chapter was very crucial as it seemed to conclude a long-running ascension for Alicia which has been tracked over the past few seasons. Toward the end of the last season, the protagonist of the show rapidly rode a downward spiral and seemed to be back at square one.

A new report by E! Online speculates about the future of the show and how the creators will need to work at reinvigorating it. The next chapter will most definitely look very different to what fans had become accustomed to over the past few seasons, with Alicia moving from strength to strength, and being rewarded with successes. Although she still perseveres, she has taken a huge hit on the political, professional and personal front. She is starting from scratch, in every regard.

A New Romance To Spark For Alicia In Season 7?

E! Online also suggests that the show will need to, in some way, make up for the controversial scene which was meant to depict closure between Alicia and Kalinda (Archie Panjabi). Some fans and critics felt the show cheated them of something they had long been waiting for by not ensuring that both actresses shot the scene together.

Another aspect of the show that will need to be made up for is the lack of some pivotal characters. Now that both Will (Josh Charles) and Kalinda have left, the void has gotten bigger. Some interesting supporting, recurring cast members like Matthew Goode, who portrayed Finn Polmar, and Steven Pasquale, who played Jonathan Elfman also exited in season 6.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
