NBA 2K16 will be seeing some big changes from 2014, with three different cover stars and a MyCareer mode directed by Spike Lee.

Super Smash Bros Lucas DLC Will Be Released Later This Month

There will be three different covers of the game, featuring All-Stars Stephen Curry, James Harden and Anthony Davis. Its release date is scheduled for Sept. 29. However,  as the publisher previously announced, pre-ordering the game will get you a copy four days early.

Lee, a film director known for his unwavering support of the New York Knicks, will be attempting to transform the MyCareer mode in 2015. In the past, the respective gameplay mode has featured a narrative about your MyPlayer's rise to glory. It has also featured press conferences and conversations with teammates in which you can pick responses and other story elements. The efforts have been admirable-but uneven; with choppy editing, strange dialogue, and a general sense of disorganization.

Hearthstone Will Begin Selling New Heroes, Which Are Simply Character Reskins

Lee will hopefully be able to make the mode's narrative a bit more cohesive in NBA 2K16, pushing the game's technology to tell a better story. The trailer below, Story Is Everything, emphasizes this point-with narration from Lee-about how story and context are so important to the game of basketball. The Stephen Curry cover is shown above, while the alternative Harden and Davis covers are below. 2K's NBA series has been the sport's video game leader for several years. It will be interesting to see if Lee can indeed succeed in taking one of its main modes to the new level!
