Apple's annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) is ready to kick off today, with the keynote speech set for 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern.

Weekly Video Game Release Schedule For June 8 To 14

The event is generally software-centric, so expect to see announcements regarding updates to iOS and OS X. Apple will stream the event on Apple TV as well as its website (no embed), though the latter will only work for those running Safari on an Apple product.

Major announcements will break first on Twitter and live blogs as they come, given that the stream normally runs on a short delay (and sometimes experiences issues and freezes), but you will get all of the information by staying tuned. WWDC, as the name implies, is more about the developers than hardware announcement events where we see iPhone reveals--these typically take place at a different time of year and are more consumer-focused. Apple will likely take us through new development tools and features which can be dry for some, but will undoubtedly explain the benefits coming to users as well.

Valve Has Announced The Release Date For Its Steam Machines

Other than general software upgrades, Apple's new music streaming service is expected to feature today. The company purchased Beats for roughly $3 billion, and is reportedly set to launch a new music service based on Beats' existing system. Apple Pay and apps for Apple Watch are likely to feature as well, meaning there will be something worth noting for every type of Apple consumer. Tune in to the stream when it begins in an hour.
