The cast announcement for CBS's Big Brother 17 is very close, with fan anticipation reaching a fever pitch.

'Big Brother' Winner Derrick Offers Advice To New Players

The Big Brother 17 cast will be announced on Tuesday, June 16, according to a new report by Big Brother Network. The site also revealed that CBS will be announcing the cast before any sort of media, so cast interviews with various website will not be readily available at first.

As for the make-up of the cast, most are expecting 16 new players, though there have been rumors of returning players being in the mix as well.

Big Brother 8 winner Evel Dick Donato recently tweeted about what he's heard in regard to the cast for the new season.

The past two seasons have featured all new players to varying success. Big Brother 15 had many unlikable players and the whole season was marred by racist comments made in the house. Meanwhile, Big Brother 16 was a rather predictable season but featured many likable players who turned into fan favorites.

It is always possible that the producers would want to bring back players from previous seasons, considering how much they've done it in the past. Big Brother 13 featured six former players mixed in with eight new players, which resulted in a Rachel Reilly win, while Big Brother 14 had four former players acting as coaches who then entered the game as competitors. While Dan Gheesling got to the Final 2 during that season, it was newbie Ian Terry who wound up winning.

Either way, the premiere of Big Brother 17 is just weeks away now, and fans are getting ready to devote a whole new summer to the series.

Big Brother 17 premieres on Wednesday, June 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
