PlayStation Vue is only offered in New York City, Chicago, and Philadelphia currently, and the iPad app is now available in those cities as well. Vue offers live television shows, sports, and movies to PlayStation consoles--both PS4 and PS3 are compatible. Much like many TV subscription services, the idea is that Vue offers all the TV content you'd need on one platform, allowing you to drop your cable subscription.

PlayStation Vue's base package is $49.99--not cheap compared to Netflix and Hulu Plus, but likely cheaper than most of the cable subscriptions its seeking to replace. This is more comparable to Sling TV, which is available on Xbox One. It's entirely live television across a variety of networks (not just content on demand) DVR that lets you store episodes for 28 days. Vue allows users to track favorites while also recommending new shows.

The $59.99 "Core" plan adds local sports support, Big Ten Network, NBC Golf, and Turner Classic Movies. The $69.99 "Elite" plan offers the full complement of channels, adding Nat Geo Wild, a variety of MTV stations, Boomerang, Fox College Sports, and a few more niche choices. You can see all of these plan details on the website.
