If you were hoping to play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited this morning at 12:00 a.m. when it was released, chances are you were out of luck.

Microsoft Announces 1 TB Xbox One With Revamped Controller

Gamers around the world struggled to log in to the console version of the game, which launched for the PS4 and Xbox One at midnight. Of those who were able to log in, some were booted right out.

It's an annoying problem for anyone who decided to pre-load the massive game early. On PS4 the main game itself rings in at a hefty 39.3 GB, with a 15.8 GB day one update on top. The many hours it took to download the game in order to play it at the minute it was unlocked may have been for naught.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Sells Four Million Copies In Two Weeks

Around seven hours after launch it seemed to start to become resolved for gamers, according to the forums.

"Hey everyone," they stated on their forums. "If you have been experiencing login errors, we ask that you please try to log into the console megaservers again. While we are continuing to work on resolving the issue, we have found that the issue has been fixed for some players at this point. We will continue to work on this until it's resolved for all players, and we'll provide an update when we can. Thank you again for your patience throughout the night."

It looks as if most (if not all) of the issues have been resolved, and gamers are starting to play online, possibly transferring over their PC characters to the new platforms.

To celebrate its release Bethesda Softworks has released the following launch trailer.

"The team has created a great console multiplayer experience for fans of The Elder Scrolls," said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. "We can't wait for this new group of players to jump in and explore the world of Tamriel with their friends."

Now that the issues are resolved, hopefuilly they can. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is now available for PS4 and Xbox One.
