Once Upon a Time fans are going to be seeing a lot more of two characters in the upcoming fifth season.

'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 Will Be 'Distressing' For Fans

Sean Maguire (who plays Robin Hood) and Rebecca Mader (Zelena) have been bumped up to series regular status on Once Upon a Time for season 5, according to a new Entertainment Weekly report. The actors have previously been recurring players on the show, but this confirms that both will still be around in season 5, potentially in a bigger fashion.

Robin Hood and Zelena were part of one interesting storyline in the latter half of season 4, with Zelena disguising herself as Robin's wife Marian and tricking him into impregnating her to spite her sister Regina (Lana Parrilla).

'Once Upon a Time' Introducing King Arthur & Other Camelot Characters In Season 5

Previously, Zelena was the villain of the second half of season 3 and while Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) appeared to have killed her, Zelena had apparently gone back in time and impersonated Marian and the rest is history.

It remains to be seen how integral Robin and/or Zelena will be in season 5, but OUAT producers are hoping to cast three new characters in King Arthur, Merlin and Guinevere. The cast of Once Upon a Time continues to grow even larger than it is already.

Once Upon a Time returns this fall on ABC, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date. It will return to its regular Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot.
