Capcom has released a bounty of details for Street Fighter V, as well as a trailer showing off the game and battle system.

3DS Sales Pass 15 Million Units In The U.S.

Two gauges along the bottom of the screen will--the EX Gauge and the V Gauge--will fill up as you hit opponents and as you are hit, respectively. The EX Gauge will allow you to perform special moves when partially full and ultimate moves when the bar is filled, while the V Gauge does the same for V-Trigger actions and V-Reversal counters.

Capcom wants Street Fighter V to be the go-to fighting game for the new generation of systems, and the visuals are certainly looking up to the task. As far as mechanics are concerned, the game is aiming to be somewhat more accessible, which may worry some hardcore fans. The developers know how important the competitive community is to the game, though, so this hopefully does not swing too far in the other direction. The competitive Capcom Pro Tour will also continue to offer cash prizes to the top players, as well.

Street Fighter V will make use of Unreal Engine 4 to produce the cutting-edge graphics you see in the trailer below. Characters new and old will appear, such as Charlie Nash alongside some more classic fighters. A great feature will be cross-platform play between PC and PlayStation 4, a first in franchise history. The online player pool will be unified across these systems.
