Emma Slater was pretty crushed to be eliminated first during the latest season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

Could Cheryl Burke Return To 'DWTS' To Support Rob Kardashian?

Slater was partnered with LMFAO singer Redfoo during the 20th season of Dancing With the Stars this spring but unfortunately they were the first couple eliminated. The pro dancer, who has been a pro on the show since season 17, recently spoke with Glamour about how rough it was to be booted first.

"I'm not going to sugarcoat it. It was awful," she admitted. "Going home first absolutely sucks for lack of a better word. I wasn't sure how his demographic would fit in with the Dancing With the Stars demographic, but I still was hopeful that we wouldn't go first. I don't dwell on it too much, but I really would have liked to have stayed."

The pro believes that their assigned dance, the Cha-Cha, did not fully accentuate Redfoo's skills as a dancer.

"I think the cha-cha wasn't his dance-that was our first one-but then the jive got him the second highest score in the dance and then in week three we had an idea to slick his hair back, and we just never had a chance to do that," Slater explained. "But someone does have to go home first, but then when it's you, it kind of gives you that nervous feeling, like, 'Am I gonna come back next season? Did I do a good enough job? Did I handle it right?' I did, it just didn't work out."

Ironically, Redfoo was Slater's youngest, most able-bodied celebrity partner ever, so it was quite shocking to see her eliminated first.

Slater admitted that even those working on the show were invested in Slater's success with Redfoo.

"It was so sweet the support I was getting, even from the field producers," she said. "They were so excited before the season started, like, 'You're going to go all the way!' Then when [we were eliminated] week one, it was like, 'Oh, no.' It's such a horrible feeling, but I really just wanted to be there for Foo and make sure he had a good time and didn't regret his experience, which he didn't, so that was the main concern for me."

Slater is expected to return for season 21 of Dancing With the Stars this fall, though she has not yet been confirmed.

Dancing With the Stars returns for a new season on Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
