Just when the public thought that Sean Penn and Charlize Theron might tie the knot, the couple has reportedly called it quits.

Reporter Asks Charlize Theron If Wedding Bells Are Happening

There has been some chatter for a while now claiming the two were going to get married, but now it appears that they're going their separate ways after a year-and-a-half together. According to Wednesday's report from Us Weekly, multiple sources said the two broke up and that Theron was the one who initiated it.

Penn has been married twice- first to Madonna and second to Robin Wright. Theron has never been married and has made it pretty clear that she might never do it.

The actress told Vogue last year, "I never had the dream of a white dress. And watching other people get married? I think it's beautiful for them, but to be quite honest, usually I'm just sitting there devastated. It's supposed to be this night of celebrating love, and all you see is a couple separated all night making sure everybody else is okay. It just looks like a lot of work."

The news of the reported breakup might come off as a shock considering that Daily Mail posted an interview with Theron last month where she gushed over Penn.

"I was happy when I met Sean and I think that's why he fell in love with me- because I was happy and fulfilled and had a healthy dose of love for myself- and he's the same," the actress said. "He doesn't fill a hole in me and I don't fill a hole in him."
